Wimbledon Mews - October update

October 18, 2019

A long, muddy slog to excavate the site down to basement level is finally over, involving the removal of countless skip loads of wet, heavy mud. This work is finally complete, as is the laying of the slab and side walls to the basements. Finally the blockwork is going up, delineating the borders of the flats, and the site is starting to look less like a swimming pool and more like a building site. There's still a lot of water around, as can be seen in these photos, but construction is now gathering pace and we expect the ground-floor steel work and joists to go in over the next week or two, along with the brickwork for the upper floors. The final form of the building should start to appear over the coming months.
